TH 400 help. Converting 2wd to 4wd.

I found a 2wd TH400 freshly rebuilt and ready to go that I am thinking about buying. The guy is telling me that all I need to do is un bolt the 2wd snout and it will fit up to a 205 or a 203, assuming the tcase was originally mated to a TH400. Does this sound right?




**also....is it true that the TH 400 has no kickdown cable?

This will for sure work with a 205 with a figure "8" style adapter, however it will NOT work with a 203 or a later 205 with a round style adapter.

Edit: no kickdown cable, the TH400 uses a push button style switch under the gas pedal.

i changed my long shaft out for a short shaft, and it bolts right up to my 203

I've got several TH400/?? set ups and all of them take different length tailshafts. If I remember the lengths are -

TH400/205 (figure 8) = 4.5"
TH400/205 (round) = 3.5"
TH400/203 = 1.5"
