Hi,

what does the "K" actually mean? I just removed the cab of the Jimmy's frame and discovered a quite new transmission. Code Sticker shows "TKM" and a big K on the housing.

BTW: how can I fit this transmission to my 6.2 Diesel, I guess I just have to change the torque converter but I'm not sure?

Greetings

Florian

K is just a slightly heavier duty housing, intended for the 4x4 (k-series) trucks originally. Depending on who you ask of course. As for fittings on a 6.2, a new torque converter would be nice, but you can get away with the gasser if you don't mind spinning up the 6.2 a little higher than normal to take off. Also will need a diesel governor, and a TV cable bracket to attach the TV cable (or a TV cable eliminator kit)
