Was wondering that myself...though I'm begining to think that the ones with the K on cost more when they blow up....like mine!! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
A 'K' case was designed for use in a 4x4. The main difference is the casting is a little beefier to help it hold up to the extra forces exerted upon it by having to support the weight of a transfer case and the extra twisting involved.
The K case has a cast aluminum bellhousing cover that bolts on with 6 bolts. There are then 2 braces that run from that cover up to the motor mounts for extra support. It also has a big fat "K" cast into the bellhousing.
