TH350 and Transfer Case

If I am reading that correctly, it is 131 + 120 = 251

Does that sound right?

i would dubble that.

i know the 205 is about the same as a 203. and 200 is a basic average for them.

and th350 with convortor installed full of fluid i would say around 150ish-175.

dont forget to drain all fluids first real good. 3/4 done and ready to pop out and you get slimmed at the wrong time is not fun or safe. :thumb:

I bought the transmission jack below for $80 from Harbor Freight. I lifts 24" and was both high enough and low enough for my needs. Rated to 450#. It worked extremely well with my TH350.

We ship 205's all the time, they are almost 150# on the dot. Sometimes we take the yokes off of them to keep under 150# (they have to go truck freight over 150#).

A 203 is sure heavier that a 205.

I think not.
a 203 is at about 50 lbs more than a 205.

i got a 350/203 combo under my 73 ready to go up and i cant even get that thing off the ground. This is coming from a guy who spends all day lifting tires. Hell i can barely slide it on a pad. I wouldnt be suprised if was 300+.

From the searching I did a "Dry" TH350 WITHOUT the convertor weighs roughly 130 lbs. and the convertor is close to 30 lbs. for a factory convertor. I know the 203 is a heavy bitch and i'd guess somewhere in the 225 lb. range so figure just under 400 lbs.

I remember reading somewhere that a np203 weighs 260 lbs with or without 8.2 quarts of oil...mine definitely felt like somewhere in that ballpark when I removed/installed it by hand last winter.

I've shipped a 205 thru UPS once without the adaptor, shifter, etc. It came in around 135 lbs.

The 203 I've never weighed yet but have attempted to pick them up myself only saw another buddy assist with the job. Just too big and cumbersome let alone I wanted to keep my nuts. :doah:

Oh I bench pressed the 203 in place 3 times in 3 months and finally when it turns out my th350 had a leaky converter, I enlisted the help of a jack.:doah:That was when I was pumping iron and was in my early 30's.
Now I can barely bench a 205, maybe using my belly instead of my arms.
