for @Greg Ducato what is the benefit of running the TH350 Dacron filter? The guy out here in AZ who rebuilt my blazer th350 said to use this type when I change the mesh filter that in it now after his rebuild.

The warranty he provided, 3 years... has lpassed as when I installed the tranny the truck didn't move for a long time while I was "fixing" it. Anyway, I'm at the point now to replace it and was wondering if the better filtering Dacron is really needed and why?

I'm also afraid to even mess with it as it's driving good thus far. But after a rebuild I assume the filter has to be changed regardless. As this driving I've done is the "break in" period.

The th350 I bought from you for my '69 c10 is still buttery goodness, thanks.

Also what gasket is recommended? The lubelocker or cork or...?

Dacron

Wix makes good product usually. I would stay with Wix.
Wix makes both the mesh and the Dacron style filter. The Dacron has better filtering but, is it really needed?

Wish Greg would check in... hahahah

No not in my gm transmissions.
My Ford c4 has a metal screen.
Thou the Po had adapted a th350 Dacron filter to that trans I changed it.

If extra / fine filtration is the target.....

Run a course suction filter and a pressurized in line filter in the hot side running to the cooler. Use a bypass filter to deal with cold oil.

I believe all use dracon now. The c4 I have was designed in 1964. With a short warranty, mfr didn't worry about making it last. But we're easy to service.
