My TH350 has been leaking up front, egtting progressively worse and I finally decided to do something about it.

I was thinking it was the seal around the input shaft, i.e. between the torque converter and the tranny.

Started to pull everything apart (regretting the Doubler!) ... and it looks fairly dry inside the inspection cover thing. The kickdown cable, though, might be loose. Is this a common thing? What do I do, just silicone goop it?

I also note that I can't remember how the damn thing comes apart... can I take the kickdown cable out from the top, or do I have to drop the pan, or ... what am I forgetting?

Hey man, how you been? Does it leak after sitting, but not when you're running it? Mine leaks after a day or so of sitting, and it is coming from the the cable area. I tried a new o-ring, but it didn't quit, I think my cable end may be cracked, or maybe the case is cracked at that spot?. To get it out, all you have to do is disconnect it from the throttle link, take out the hold down bolt with a 7/16 wrench at the tranny, and you can unhook the cable from the tranny part.

Tough call -- proll leaks when sitting, as it's been doing a LOT more of that than driving these days. :( The towrig is sans engine after not getting to BlazerBash last year ... oy. Anyway...

It leaks enough that the tranny gets so empty it won't shift, which makes it hard to move around the yard.

Got the bolt out, but the end of the cable has that S-shape in it, as I recall, and it didn't want to come out when I fiddled with it.

Tomorrow is another day!
