I have a friend that has a th350/np203 in his truck. We have access to a free th350/np205, but the tranny is bad his is good. He wants to run the np205 behind his good th350. Will this be a direct swap, just bolt on the np205 and adapter and go. Or are the trans output sahft spine different?

It depends what year 205 you have...
the 80' version has a slip yoke in the rear..
the earlier versions came with fixed yokes...front and rear.

I've converted a couple trucks...from a 203 to a 205...
the 205 sits about 2" more forward than the 203...
so driveshaft lengths will be different.

If you have more than 6" of lift..
Driveshaft angles can be rough on the front shaft...
I had to move my front axle forward 2"s...

Not worried about slipyoke or driveshaft lengths, just if it was a direct swap.
Thanks, I think we will swap it then. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Oh...sure they bolt-up...
Watch for a worn drivesleeve...that couples the 203 to the 350...
and it's common...for problems...
