In my '82 K5, the th350 transmission pulls hard (wants to go forward) even while the brakes are applied.

The idle is set to 700 rpms and it almost seems like you have to keep standing on the brakes to keep it from lurching forward.

Any ideas?

I couldn't see that happening but it's a good idea.

I've had the K5 about 12 years but it's been sitting for about the past 5. Had the transmission rebuilt since I've owned it but not too many miles (under 15k id guess). She runs fine other than this issue.

Maybe try lowering the idle to spec (should be about 550rpm in gear).

A broken converter sprag will do that or a converter with too low of a stall speed for the application
