For a 69’ C10 I’m looking for input on what company, slip yoke length is best suited for this truck.
I’m going with a 1 piece drive line and doing away with that carrier bearing(I think it’s called)

now that I’m getting ready to install the engine/tranny I need to get a drive shaft.

3:08 gears and mild 350 engine I believe the th350 I bought from @Greg Ducato is a 6 inch tail shaft and 27 spline. Maybe Greg could say what he would recommend. It’s Friday and his shop is closed so I figure I’ll ask here first.

Also is that clip that goes over the governor slot needed?

Throw it in and measure it. Best way to tell. I bought a tom woods shaft and it was built and shipped inside of three days. Nice folks over there.

If you are having a shaft made let the shaft builder determine what yoke to use as there are several length and universal joint variances. As for the clip, the cover has locktite on it so no clip is required but you can install one if you like, no harm in that at all.

Thanks, boss. I’ll talk with the drive shaft shop out here in AZ about yoke length.

That's an old picture, right? The trans and engine are installed.
I printed out denny's driveshaft measuring sheet for my application, and took it to my local drive shaft shop. The new shaft fit perfectly.
Do the measurements on the ground with the tires size you want to use

It’s already installed...
I posted this prior to install but it didn’t generate much attention.
i already put the new tires on.
