I just recently picked up an sm 465 with the 6.55 crawler in it already mated to a np 205. I already know about having to get a new flywheel and running a new pedal. My big question is will my existing driveshaft have to be shortend or lengthed and will i have to alter my tranny hump. also i am swaping out the stock 10 bolt for an eight lug dana 44. Will anything thing need to be fabricated or changed.

P.S. if you want to find the weak points in your truck, sled pull it.

What kind of vehicle? Year?

Of your going auto to manual, the tranny cover will need at least a big hole in the top for the shifter. You'll need to figure out which style of clutch too and how to hook it up.

79 k5. I would like to go hydraulic but i dont know if there are the parts to do it. my block does have the tab for the clutch cable though.

When I did this swap I needed a new driveshaft. (I don't remember the length difference now)

A little bit of wiring to change the neutral safety switch over to the 465 and the clutch.

'74 had a removable tunnel cover so I just swapped in one from a manual.

Everything else bolted up on my '74.

Have fun!
