My 78 K5 has a NP205-Th350 setup. I pulled the NP205 and adapter from a nice orange 72 K5 that was being parted out with low miles back in the late 90s. I should have bought the entire 72 K5 looking back as the body was nice on it. The 72 K5 NP205 and adapter was a direct bolt in for the 78 K5. I only had to modify my driveshaft length.
I have the opportunity to pick up a complete NP205-TH400 chevy combo. I also currently have a front Dana 60 that I can swap into the 78. Would I need to change any of the mounts? What is needed to be modified for a NP205-TH400 if I use the front Dana 44 or front Dana 60 on the 78 k5?
