Well I called around for price quotes today to get my TH350 tranny rebuilt. The lowest quote I got was $800 and thats with HD clutches and Stage 1 shift kit and im pretty sure this price is including a new torque converter as well. Does that sound about right or is it too high? Im doing the uninstalling and installing of the tranny myself.

Any other tips on what to have them install would be helpfull as I no nothing about transmissions. Oh and my tranny is out of a 1976 K5 blazer..

I paid 330 for my th350 to be rebuilt, with me doing the installing. I would expect anywhere from 300-500 if your doing the work of pulling and putting it back in. Its about 300-400 in labor for them to do the pulling.

Deffinatly shop around, and get qoutes from many shops in your area. Check with the Better Business Beauro. And people in your area that have had transmission work.

I paid 650 for my 700r4 to be rebuilt and they did the pulling and replacing so i would definatly shop around

I was told on this thread around $600 for the rebuild, now im getting a little comfused http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189157&page=2

Is it $400 or is it $600 :D

it really depends on your area truthfully. i would pay 600, if i had to. But 800 is high, thats what it would cost for a 700r4 to be rebuilt here.

Do I install the trans cooler myself or do I have the guy thats rebuilding my transmission do it?

If I do it myself , where should I buy this part at?

By the way, the lowest quote I got in my area to rebuild my TH350 transmission was $635 thats with me uninstalling it and installing it, He said he stands by his work with a 12,000 mile warranty.

For some resson I feel as if im getting ripped, what do you guys think?
