This got me wondering the other day. I got a Th350 with a shift kit and a 203 case with the part time kit. Well I was driving in Lowloc(4 wheel low) and I went to put it in low1 on the transmission, well it wouldnt, It only would go into second. I forgot to try it in 2 wheel or 4 high. Is it supposed to do that, is it some sorta of saftey feature. Or is it something I should have checked out.

Thanks

Did you try in 2hi 2lo or 4 hi yet?? If not i'd double check your linkages or something and make sure nothing binding

Well if you get a chance try it and post up your results. That doesn't make sense to me.

By 4-speed you mean 700r-4 or manual??

nah If i were to swap the trans I would get a parts truck with a SM465 and go from there.

or if i had lots of money get a NV4500

465 is super nice. I did the swap...cussed alot...but it was well worth. Let me know what you come up with and if you need any help with the tranny swap let me know.

ya they are a good trans. I aint gonna lie I am not the best at driving manual trans. but I got to drive a truck with a 465 in it, Man it was so nice. and my truck has 4.56 gears now you add that with the granny low 1st gear, My truck would crawl through almost anything

Looks like a nice setup. Got any pics or have you posted any already??

Can't remember if you can post before you're a member or not

that thing is beautiful. I only really liked the last 2 body styles, but since ive been seeing more of these im starting to reallly like them. She looks sweet.

**** i forgot that was yours. Nice lookin Blazer

It'd kinda suck to cut up that purty carpet to put in a 4-speed but if you have to you have to

your problem with the 350 sounds exactly like a linkage problem. Perhaps someone installed it on the tranny upside down and it's hitting something. Could also be that the cotter pin came out and you're not getting the linkage through the whole tranny thingymabob.

The end of the linkage goes through a fork type thing bolted to the tranny. If the linkage comes out of one side the linkage will rotate like it's supposed to, but the tranny piece won't. Was that explanation confusing enough?

Well I took her out for a drive and here is my findings.

4 high- no L1
4 low - no L1
2 high- no L1
2 low - no L1

all the gears on the seem to be working. park= park, Nutral= nutral, reverse = reverse ect

It Shifts Perfect.

the shifter just stops when it in L2 just wont go anyfarther, I cant even make it go farther

Well if the linkage is off it will still go into gear right til you get to low. I'd try messin with the linkage but make sure you chock your wheels as to not run yourself over. you can pretty much guess which way you will need to go once you start lookin
