th400/203 ?????

No. Only 3/4 ton unless it was swapped into a 1/2 ton.

That's what I thought, except they were avaliable in 1tons as well.Anyway I know a guy that tells me his buddy has a 1/2 running gear for sale but he claims it has a 400/203  . When I questioned him about it he said he knows they were factory because his dad has an origonal 1/2 ton with a 400/400/203. I think he doesn't know the difference between 1/2 and 3/4 ton or he doesn't know what a th400 looks like.

cant say ive ever seen a k5 or k10 with a 400 trans

but ive owned and seen alot of c10 trucks with a 400 trans though

very commonly, especially in 81-up,
dime a dozen
but im sure they werent as heavily built as the 70s and older ones though

good luck

The only 1/2 ton truck that came from the factory with a 400 tranny would be the M1009 military blazers.

Don't know if either was was orginal but I have seen two half tons with the 400/203 setup

Ya'll don't forget that GM put TH400's ( actually TH375's ) in non-overdrive option'd vehicles once the lock-up TH350 was gone. I have never seen a 4WD version though......

what about half tons made before the advent of the TH350? I know this isn't pertinent, but I am a nitpicker :p: (well actually the Powerglide and TH400 were about it, at least in 67-68).

I think 1969 was the first year for GM to offer a auto in a 4WD. Before that it was all standard tranny options .
