Th400/np241 vs nv4500/241 Length difference?
Am I trippin?
The 97 nv4500 is 28-1/4 long but my 1990 th400 and adapter are 26-7/8.
I thought these would swap with each other without driveshaft changes.
How are people doing this when y’all say no new driveshafts?

I want to do this to the suburban but it’s gotta be a smooth swap. Like weekend and done.

If you lifted it, the rear would benefit from the extra inch and change, the front could use a 1" spacer.
You can still do it quick

I haven’t figured out where I messed up but I did find on the internet that they are the same total length as assemblies.

I would make sure you “hope” for the best when attempting a weekend swap, but make sure you still have a ride to work for the next 3-4 weeks!

I’ve seen a few gm cranks that were not drilled for the pilot bearing…

You might need different crossmember

And you have the appropriate 241 for the nv4500? Or are you trying to swap a 27 spline input into your nv4500?
