TH400 filter mount?

I changed the oil in my K30 for the first time the other day.
There seemed to be something missing though.
The filter was mounted with this bolt and spacer, but as you can see, there is a gap, since the un-threaded part of the bolt is longer than the spacer...

So the filter have been hanging loose :eek1:

Now I solved it temporary with a M12 nut as an extra spacer.
I guess something is missing, but what?
 
You're right the filter is loose, and that is the way it is designed, nothing missing.

It felt like it easily could have gotten loose from the pickup tube...

On the other hand the TH700 doesn't need a bolt at all, but that filter has a completely different design...:thinking:

Any risk I messed it up by mounting it tight?
 
Yes Fred they are a little loose in there, a quarter inch or so on the mounting bolt to the valve body is normal.
