Got the transfercase in and delivered it to my buddies house. What a nightmare, thanks for the help guys

Well, at least its working. But we still don't know what the heck kind of transmission it was.
You should have painted a big sign on it saying "for use only with this transfer case" for the next poor guy who tries to do a transfer case replacement.
