SUBGRRL, yes. The K5 is TNK GRRL, from Tank Girl, an Australian comic ... there was a movie few years back with Lori Petty and one of the Ices, Ice T I think. No real significance other than a handy way to name all the trucks. The CUCV is Booga, etc, all characters from the comic.
And yes, I'm male, and yes, it's funny.
