Hey guys I have put a 2wd drive cab on my 3/4ton 4x4 and I have to have to add the kickdown switch. I have the switch now but do I need to get the foot petal from a th400 truck or can I just add the switch to my 1/2 cab. I have the switch sitting by the foot pedal and it looks like the switch won't come all the way back. Will this set up still work ok?
Could someone tell me the exact way to wire in the switch?
Thanks guys
Matt

You can just swap the gas pedal assemblies out then you'll have the original mounting point for the switch. Just pop the three bolts out, pull the cable (it's pretty easy to see how it comes off), and pull the whole thing out.

When I upgraded from a Turbo 350 to a Turbo 400 into my '75, the holes for the switch screws were already drilled in the pedal bracket. I grabbed a switch from an old Jeep Wagoneer and it fit perfectly.

Right on

Ok guys thanks I will try to hook up the switch tomorrow. How exactly should I wire up the switch?
Thanks
Matt

One wire goes to the solenoid on the side of the trans, the other wire goes through a 3 amp fuse to switched 12 volts.
