I put a test light at the kickdown switch on the drivers side of the trany and it lights up when I push gas pedal down all the way.

Unless perhaps the wire that goes in the tranny to the solenoid is cut or shorted--its on the drivers side of the case--check for power there with the key in the "on" posistion--might be fused too, check the fuses??. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

yep check that wire that goes from the switch down to the tranny...
the connector where it goes to the selenoid inside the tranny could have came loose. (after you pull the pan)
Otherwise probably the selenoid.

I forgot to mention that the switch at the gas pedal needs to be depressed (floor it!) to send the juice to that wire--might need a helper or a peice of wood or something to hold the gas pedal floored. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
