Where is the seal between the tranny and the tcase (205), in the rear of the tranny, or in the adapter?

Anyone have a part number handy?

I haven't taken things apart yet, but would like to have the seal on hand.

There are two seals inside the adapter, plus the "o-ring" seal between the adapter housing and the trans housing.

Yeah, a 350 has an o-ring but 400 uses a gasket.

OK well my TH400 is in shipping and they must have the wrong pic in Ron Sessions "How To Work With and Modify the Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 Transmission" I bought yesterday. Thought it looked like a TH350 in the pic but thought the TH400 used a similar setup do to the pic they used. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Decent book but it does have several mistakes in it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Can you replace the seals leaving the adapter attached to the tranny, or does it have to come off the tranny?

Just need to find out what parts I'll need before I replace the seals, So far I need 2 seals, adapter to 205 gasket, and possibly adapter to tranny gasket. Does that sound right?
