TH400???\'s

Will a th400 thats behind a 6.2l diesel bolt up to a 350? If not what do I have to do to make this work?

Yes it will bolt up, the bellhousing pattern is the same. The diesels used a different stall toruqe converter.

I'm fairly sure the shift points are set differently on the diesel TH400, but I can't confirm that.

I'm pretty sure they have different govenor settings, too.

diesel trans have different governor settings and all since diesels don't rev nearly as high as a 350.

What all needs to be swapped besides the gov and the convertor?

swapping the governor from a gas transmission, is as easy as unbolting the 4 bolts for the governor cover, and sliding out the governor, with the centrifigual weights on one end and the plastic drive gear on the other end.. the weights in the governor assembly should be responsible for how quickly the tranny builds governor pressure and when it shifts. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
