After dropping in my rebuilt 350 and swapping in a new torque converter with fresh input seal, I began to service the transmission and took this time to try to replace the selector shaft seal. Turns out the PO had previously tried to remove/replace this seal with chisel/hammer/mace and really FUBAR'd the selector shaft. So bad that it looked like pit bull's chew toy. I was a little pressed for time and had no choice but to replace the seal anyway knowing it was gonna get chewed up and leak. I was on the 2nd day of the 2 day moving permit to get it smogged, which didnt happen and all the rush was for nothing.

I've looked the best I could, but only found defunct links. Does anyone know a source where I can get a replacement selector shaft for a TH400?

This is the only leak on my truck now and when parked facing down hill makes it spill more oil than the Deepwater Horizon incident. :1zhelp:

Thanks for the replies. I asked one of the guys selling a 350 shaft if he had any 400's, Said he did and was in the process of putting them up. bought one from him and now he has more of them in his ebay store if anyone is looking for one. http://myworld.ebay.com/twistedwrench09?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1181

TH400 Selector shaft, nuts, retaining 'nail' and seal for $25 shipped is pretty good! The seal alone is about $6 at autozone. Can finally fix this damn leak now.

Hey there, I caught this on a linkback . Thank you for your business and huge thanks for the shout out.
If you ever need anything else feel free to hit me up. I have a ton more parts new and used but I don’t list much on ebay anymore. They just charge way too much on there nowadays.
Easy to find me on helpwrench dot com , I also have written a bunch of how to threads on there. Like th400, 4l60e, 4l80e, ect and vortec info.
Thanks again.
i also set my settings on here to receive all messages. so it should email me if i dont get back soon enough.
great site!

this site wont let me post a url yet. but check out extreme automatics and the spragless valve body. i am doing a build right using his stuff. its tasty
Just pad to your count to get it up higher or go to the testing forum and dick around there to get your count up. Then you'll be able to post URL's. :waytogo:
