If the line comes off it will shift harder (thinks the engine is at WOT all the time), although shift timing should not change much, it sometimes is a bit dependent on the individual transmission.
there are several companies that sell adjustable modulators for the T-400 and T-350.
If you change gear ratio's or tire sizes, these will help
get the shift points back to normal...also the govenor weights and springs can be adjusted as well...pretty easy to do with the trans still in the truck.
