My truck had a 305 backed with a th350. I am in the process of swapping a 350 and a th400. What is need for this swap? Is there any electronics that have to be hooked up. Or is it all vacuum off carb or....

what year is this truck; early 80's?

The T400 has an electric switch on the accelerator pedal to activate the kickdown for a lower gear. Is this a 4WD application?

The output on the T400 will be different that the T350 (32 spline vs 27) and the bolt circle will be different to the t-case adaptor. You can swap the input shaft on the t-case to 32 spline.

the truck is a 79 and yes it is a 4x4 more info could have helped you guys. I already have a new adapter and a 205 and the cross member to go with the Tranny.

Dont know the year of the tranny.

So what t/c do you have right now?

If you change the overall length of your trans/transfercase combo your driveshaft length will change too. If your changing transfer cases from a 203 to a 205 you will need to do something with your front hubs, with a 203 they are engaged full time.

The tranny came with a TQ when i traded the guy. My Dana 60 came out of the same truck as the 205 T case so i should be fine in the Hub department.

So what do i need and need to do to hook up the electronics on the tranny?

Thanks for all the help guys

gas pedel switch and bracket .

orange wire from switch to fuse box and then threw firewall to tranny . simple 1 wire setup.
