Hey, what is needed to do this conversion in a 6.2 motor?
I went thru quite a few pages in the diesel section and couldn't find anything.

Thanks alot everyone

And you want to swap ....why ??????The 400 in my opinion is a better trans . You can handle towing better . The 700 you have to have someway to lock up the converter .

Your not going to find much info on that swap here because most go the other way and get rid of the 700R4. If you want to replace the TH400 with an overdrive get a 4L80E and the wiring and computer from a 1991 Chevy K20 Suburban or crewcab with a 6.2L.

Just for the overdrive, would just be a fun vehicle, which might take some long trips, figured OD would make that easier on the wallet.

What vehicle is it?
I have a 700R4 in my sub and had one in my Van, I liked it better than a th400 but I also didn't tow anything big and I didn't wheel it.
It's not that bad to do the swap, if you decide to do it I can help with info.

The thing is, ive got a 91 blazer and its nice, in good shape, shat mpg tho.
Looking into a disel, something thats not in such great shape, that I can bang up and wheel without worrying about it.

Does anyone wheel a m1008? Dont know how wheeling a pickup would be compared to a shorter truck like the blazer.
It would also be for longer trips, figured the diesel, esp with overdrive would get real decent MPG when cruising on the highway esp when im not towing anything

Yeah I got 20 MPG driving my 3/4 ton SUBURBAN 4wd and I wasn't nice to it.
The 700 in that one was transplanted instead of the th400 for economy.
The one I have now came factory.
I would think your blazer will be fine with a 700, not like you will be putting 40" tires on it or pulling a 10k trailer behind you.

I would prob end up with a m1008 as far as a diesel.
Getting to that point in life where everyone is getting married, houses, and there will be lots of work to do, a pickup will be nice to have.

My blazer is gas driven.
