Hey everyone new to the CK5 group, appreciate allowing me to join up.
When you say selector shaft, are you talking about the external linkage, or internally in the transmission with the pan off?Okay my issue may be a really easy one, my 92 Chevy 700r4 the Rooster is not going all the way to park . I took the selector Shaft out and then when the rooster was not being held it would move freely, once shaft was placed back in acted like it was hitting the trans case and not go to park again stays in between neutral and OD
Internal , pan offWhen you say selector shaft, are you talking about the external linkage, or internally in the transmission with the pan off?
How did this problem come about?
Oh dang. My guess would be the parking pawl maybe got messed up?The carrier bearing came apart and shook the truck really hard, it split the trans mount, after that it would not go to reverse or park.

Thanks for the help, I will give that a look at tomorrow to see.If you remove that bracket, you might be able to get a better look at the pawl.
Yeah no problem. The pawl should be spring loaded away from the teeth on the drum. The “head” of the plunger shaft should push the pawl into the teeth for park. Thanks for the help, I will give that a look at tomorrow to see.
