on the inside of the distributor it plugs into the control module...and has a alittle cylinder/canister thing that screws down into the distributor...............what is this called? a condensor and harness? me or the autozone guy could not find this part but i know they have it there.....

I know the harness you're speaking of and i'm pretty sure that is a dealer item. I had replaced one one time and had to buy it from the dealer.

EDIT: I'm not sure if the cylindrical piece is a condensor or a capacitor. I'm leaning more towards it being a capacitor in the case of electronic ignition.

Yep!

Go to a Napa, atleast there someone will know what your after.

I wish I could say the same for my local Napa. That guy looks like he wants to hide under the counter when he see's me coming.

good call, ya ill try napa tomarrow. but the reason im looking to get this is because my truck has no spark. and the 3 wire harness has clips broke off it and if i dont have it zip tied up is just falls out of it...and i just took it to shop to get rear end rebuilt and it was running real bad..missing and studdering...but i had a real bad burnt plug wire...so i put all new wires on it and now it wont even start and pulled a plug and put on frame and didnt have a spark....before i tried starting it i was routing new thicker battery cable which i unhooked but forgot to unhook 2nd battery and the wire i have goin to distirbution block for distrubotr and blower motor arked off real bad and im thinkgin i mite of fried coil\control module....

I think i have a spare assembly in the garage. There were two different wire connector ends IIRC if you can get me a pic i can see if it's the same as i have and i can mail it to you.

EDIT: I took a look and the one i have is a 4 wire connector harness.

I sold a few of those,"distributor wiring harness" things that the module and condensor plugs into--Standard Ignition makes them,so does many other brands--but that condensor is only for radio static suppression,it has NO affect on the ignition system otherwise,as far as making a spark..thats the job of the module, coil, and pickup coil...but I suppose if one of the plugs on that harness is faulty that could kill the spark too..

found it. napa had it...its a capacitor part number rr231(atleast thats what it says on box but has wire harness with it)....it took alot of looking thru there books but found it...after replaceing the coil and control module and still having no spark it ended up being this capacitor...but i dont think it was the capacitor it self i think the wire ends were jus wore out...
