The Angry Pig - The 454 TBI swap into the V2500 is now underway!

Been following your thread since I'm working on putting a 454 in my crew cab. You're getting me all excited to get mine done. :D

Thank you for the pictures of the exhaust. It looks like it uses the same Flowmaster y-pipe I'm planning to. I'm still on the fence about headers, shorties versus long tube. I'm not sure if I can get an exhaust pipe between the transfer case and frame because my case is clocked up. It looks like it would be pretty tough to get the exhaust crossed over before the tcase with long tube headers. Your pictures make for very good reference.

Exiting in the stock location? Who did your work?

I had new exhaust put in last year, so he just plumbed up to the muffler and left the last part alone. Inlet was 3" on the muffler, so he attached my Y pipe just in front of it and brought the new 2.5" back from the collectors. Outlet of the muffler is also 3" and it exits out behind the drivers rear tire (I believe that is the stock location). The person that did it is in Woolmarket. He has a nice shop behind his house. I was referred to him my wife's uncle. It was $100.

@mrk5 - I did have to changeout fuel pumps. While it seemed I had enough pressure, just not enough flow. The stock one was leaning out the engine too much. I put in one for that is used in many of the vortecs. AC Delco #EP381. It went right into place in the tank and engine isn't chugging anymore. Yay! Used the same connector too. Harris Performance mentions this on his site, I should of paid more attention to it.

So depending on what mods you will do on your 454, you may want to look at the fuel delivery aspect.

How much power would you guess you are putting out now?

Good question; Not sure actually. I am running the peanut port heads for torque, not horses. I should be around 400hp and 500tq. Cam folks think it should be a bit higher but I am not 100% on that. I think folks fluff their numbers. I guess I need to take it to a dyno to see what is really going to be at the wheels.

I haven’t see anything about it local. He had it advertised and then marked sold on Facebook so there’s a good chance the buyer doesn’t understand what they got.
