What’s up everyone new here. I was told this is the best full size forum ever. Here is my 1974 k10. Bought it stock 5 years ago. Just finished the 1 ton swap 3 weeks ago. I can’t stop daily driving it, I love it. Suspension is all Offroad design, psc box, wfo torque arm kit. Reid knuckles. Dana 60/14 bolt. Ruff stuff rear disc brake. 4.56 gears detroit lockers in both ends. 35 spline inner and outers, Yukon hardcore hubs, 37s for now. Still sm465 and np205 t case, 383 stroker still carb.

I need to figure out if I wanna run a atlas or eco box, I’d like to keep the sm465 or Find a nv4500 so far I’m happy with it, I’ve parked my Toyota crawler and am daily driving the k10. It gets 10.5 mpg no matter what. Does have a 20 gallon fuel cell mounted in the back, like a blazer.

I’ve heard from buddies that have Atlas transfer cases that they tend to pop in full size (read: heavy) rigs. Seems like ORD magnum with a np205 is the cream of the crop for us.

The inter webs have my brain wondering. I love the bench seat but I also hate it. I love bringing my dog in trips and she likes laying on the bench seat. So my whole seat situation is based on my dogs comfort. Real issue to have looking at a prp bench. To get some side bolster but still have the old truck feel. Anyone swapped this? 9FCE555D-69FA-4076-B5B0-FFA4CDB8815C.png

I’m putting a PRP bench in the back of my k5. It’s getting mounted to the cage via tabs though.

I know PRP sells adapters to get the bench into misc Jeeps. You could probably get one of those mounts to work. Wont be exactly bolt in but could help get you close.

PRP is where it’s at though. Highly recommend the seat heater option. They crank!

Another option could be buckets and a middle jump seat, that way you get a full bench and console when needed. Wheeling with an old bench sure is hazardous tho :rotfl:
my old scout had a bench seat... and no seat belts. take a right hand turn too hard and have the driver side door open itself and swing open... those were the good ol days

what about a cover for your current seat? anyone make a nice neoprene cover that would add a little padding and some grip to what you already have?

I DO like the PRP suspension seats- they seem to fit me much better and cost less than the cheap empi/race trim ones, and way better bang for the buck than some of the bigger names in suspension seats.

Not sure I want them in something I would take a long trip in or daily drive. sun exposure and try environments are not their friend. in general, all my suspension seats start ripping and failing after 3-4 seasons? dogs paws may shorten the life span. -there's no adjustments to be had to back rest angle, and they can be kind of a pain in the butt if you are getting in and out of them frequently.

Although they are buckets, i have the PRP enduro front seats and i think they are super comfortable. They recline so I’m able to get them into the angle i want and also get behind them pretty easily.

They hold you in somewhere between a stock and a fixed back full bolster “racing” seat and they are still a suspension seat
