So I know there is a guy on here who is very knowledgeable when it comes to Blazer Chalets.

Does anyone on here know of the best way to get a hold of him?

I think I found one of these Chalets and would like to talk to him more about them.

Camper specific, or about the truck itself? (The Blazer part is normal stock Blazer, but the Chalet part is decidedly weird.)

I'm the ex-Chalet guy, though I did ping our resident guy, who should show up in a bit.

Camper specific, mostly looking for pictures of the serial number tag that is on the back by the door.

I also would like to know what one is worth roughly, the one I found is a Michigan truck so sadly it has some rust in the typical spots for a blazer, but it has been in storage since 1996 so its not the worst looking thing out there.

Value is debatable -- lots of folks selling them think they're worth a mint, but folks don't buy many of them.

There are actually three or four plates by the back door... lemme go find pix.

Hmm, all I have are horrible ones:

Yeah, I figure it's worth a lot to the right guy looking for parts or to restore one, but to the general masses its probably not worth much more than a blazer of the same vintage.

Which one of those tags has the serial number on it? the solid aluminum one or the brown one that is sort of crinkled up?

The camper serial number is the riveted one, in this case 7 BCA 01383 -- the 9 76 is the manufacturer's date code.

Well I got it out and running, the thing runs better than my 96 Silverado, it even ran on the 16 year old gas that was in the tank! This Chalet has been sitting in the back corner of an airplane hanger for the last 16 years, and it defiantly has a unique smell inside of it...

I also got a good look at the serial number tag in case you were interested.

It's 6 BCA 00025, and the date code is 4 76.

Tbair - Sorry for the delay, I was out on vacation away from all internet since last Thursday. Thanks to dremu for answering the SN plate questions. #0025 is not one on my mega-spreadsheet list, so please post pics - and do join our Chalet owners/enthusiasts forum at the Yahoo link in my sig below.

Grand Ledge eh?

Was this at the little airport there?

Ah, was going to say I spent some time around there and never heard about that one.

Looks solid though.

the truck is a little rough, but that's one of the cleanest campers I've seen.

Yeah, sadly the Michigan roads took their toll on the body, it is better than most 76 blazers you see around here, but it still has rust holes in the typical spots for a blazer.

Thanks for posting the pics, and for the ones via email. The campers had a little LPG-fired furnace, but no A/C, only what could be blown back from the K5 dash.
