ah more than sufficient. i love hearing that. now umm i know ive pretty much turned my thread about terrys ride into one about my own(sorry) but i do have a big blue truck and wanna enter it in ttc someday so its all relevant. i have about this much> 0%< knowledge on coils. someone school me please. and after i pay my no bumper ticket(stupid cops its a $120 ticket!!) then i will buy my member status

Yeah, a D60/14bff would be sufficient, so 2.5-ton Rocks would definitely be more than.
If you go with anything but leaf springs, it's going to be completely custom, so you should find some good books and watch old episodes of Trucks! and Extreme 4x4.

But it's not always about what broke. Sometimes it's about: what didn't function well enough to tackle the need. Minus any mechanical problems, I still don't think he would have finished much, if any, better than he did. So, my opinion is, it was way outclassed at TTC. It didn't even belong there. At a mud bog, yeah, .. at TTC .. NO. It's not even close to the level that the vehicles need to be to perform well there. In fact, when I saw that it was going to compete there, I made a guess at where it would finish, and I was about dead on. It's nothing against the guy personaly.

I really do like the look of the truck, but I would want something a little more practical....
But I can see why it got votes, it is gymungous!! I bet the magazine editors were scratching their heads trying to figure out how it got into TTC....

im glad i can get all this advice and feedback on my ideas from yall. two days ago i was intent on 5 tons, Ags, and tryin hard to convince myself that a few blocks here and there wouldnt hurt. and now i am back to a good strong truck build. that could give everyone a run for their money(and its gonna cost me a pretty penny lol) but keep it comin i like to hear everyones ideas and inputs on these kind of things
I can't help but wonder, why didn't he test his truck out on conditions he might be running on.It would of saved himself a lot of embarrassment.

i know i always look at the classifieds and see amazing deals but i cant get ahold of anyone because of my lowness on the totem pole. so hopefully thisll put everything in motion. who knows i could be the youngest ttc driver haha
i think if you plan to link it, keep it under 10" lift and run 42's/44's and it would perform well
that truck would be perfect if you sold the motor...put a junkyard 350 in...buy a big shop...start a 4wd buiness with a mud bogg in the back...play in your own mud bogg and when you are done use that as your street sign...there is a shop down here that has a ferd outside of it on thoose same tires with 2.5 tons...never has moved...just heard stories of someone getting brave enough to drive it down the road one night...made it like a mile then was impounded...back now though

for coilovers, youd really have to check out pirate4x4.com, they have alot more "hardcore" members with buggys and such, so there is so much tech on coils there as well as tons of venders that sell them, but again youd have to pay for a membership, its $20 there
