Call me weird but I have tried blue and black and still don't see a difference... What instances has it benefits?

Black Sharpies get ruined almost instantly when working with metal, especially metal with any surface oils. They seem to lose their mojo really fast and won’t mark properly.

Blue Sharpies are more like Dykem marking fluid in a tube. :waytogo: They flow well, even on oily metals and last about 50x longer... I typically only throw them away when the tip gets all mushed-up and wont draw a crisp line. Rarely do I ever throw one away because the ink became ineffective.

I notice most of the autographs I got from artists use either silver or black Sharpies most of the time...(maybe because they dry faster,or show up better on photos ?)..

I'm not a sharpie racist. I have black, blue, red, and silver on my work bench(along with silver and red colored pencils, white paint pens, soapstone, and scribes...). I usually use red for bare metal and silver for painted, but honestly its just whatever is closest. The only downside to the silver is no ultra fine tip

Back in 2001 when I went to get a testicle removed that had a tumor, the surgeon used a sharpie on my right thigh,he made an arrow pointing to the right side one and wrote "this side"..

I asked him why,and he said "oh--it's just to ensure we take out the correct one"--we've had a few patients get the wrong knee replaced,or kidney,breast,etc..--...
:yikes:...:yikes:
If the IV they stuck in my hand to put me under hadn't started taking effect yet,I probably would have bolted out the door..and :burnout:..
