So I sold my 2008 GMC Crew Cab Sierra in attempt to get something a little more fuel efficient. A 50-60 mile round trip commute everyday and not going off road as much as I used to just didn't justify me having it anymore. So I sold the Sierra and got a car and the K5 below.

This is my first go around with a non-IFS vehicle and should be an overall learning experience. I have always done just about everything to my vehicles myself, but I have never jumped in too deep into anything. My experience is limited to mostly bolt on stuff like the bumpers, simple lift, and stereo systems like on my previous truck. So I'm hoping to get a litttle help from everyone on here. The first thing I'm starting on is going to be the interior as most of the drivetrain seems pretty stout for now.

Hopefully I should have most of the stereo squared away in the next few days. Being an installer several years ago, its hard for me to live with just having a headunit and a single pair of 6x9s mounted next to the rear seat!

I gotta get going on the stereo in my burb:doah: It sucks having a crap stereo after having a full comp sytem. What are your plans for the K5

I completely understand how you feel. I have had everything from super loud to awesome sound quality, and what I have now is downright painful .

Right now, the plans for the blazer are as follows:

- Upgrade the stereo
- Somewhat restore the interior. Strip the carpet, rhino-line the floor, replace the rear side panels / door panels, and new upolstery / new seats if I can find a good deal.
- Identify what the lift is
- Replace different parts on the suspension (i.e. the blocks in the rear)
- larger rolling stock
- repair the rust on the body
- paint
- mild motor work

Thats pretty much the short version, as I'm sure I will find other stuff along the way.

Like it. Looks like a Damn nice K5. What little car did you get?

So far it seems pretty good. But I am finding a little more rust than I thought the truck had when I bought it. The little car I got is a 2011 Civic. Not exactly my style, but it is nice paying under $30 to fill up and get 32 mpg.

Well the 110+ heat index and my home's AC taking a dump on me has halted progress a little. But I hope to get some work done on the 4th. Hopefully I will have some more pics before the weekend.
