The Challenger is coming back

I wish the TRUE muscle car would come back. Big power for cheap wasnt that the original idea not a $60000 sports car that only kids with trust funds or bankers can afford

I'm guessing it will be marketed as Competition for the Mustake

It would be nice if it acutally happens. I was not too impressed with the look and idea of a 4-door Charger, but it does have good perfomance for a 4-door.

My dad is already on a waiting list at a local Dodge dealer. Wants to get it for my Mom's new Daily driver(so he says). He would have put money down but they wouldn't let him yet.

yeah, I wish they would offer stripped down big engine'd cars like they did back in the day. These days if you want a real engine, you end up having to get the trim package with heated 12-way adjustable power seats and all kinds of other useless crap (which, of course, costs a fortune). They should have a car that doesn't really have ANY cool bling features at its base model... but does have bling (ie 400+HP) under the hood. Hell, why even have a stock stereo... not like anyone is going to keep it anyway! Imagine if they made such a car and it had the Viper 500/500/500 engine in it and yet only cost like $20k. That would own all. :thumb:

they do have that.... its just a Mitsubishi..... Mitsubishi Evo RS. Comes with less sound deadening ****, lightweight trunk lid and hood, light weight body panels, crank windows, no radio, and 286HP(underrated). AWD, Turbo, 5 speed, and hell of a lot of fun to drive. Throw on the MR Bilstein shocks, crank up the boost, and you have a mean corner carver.

I said it until they cancelled it, they needed the Camaro and Firebird in stripper versions. No bells and whistles, just the LS1(or 2) and a 6(or 5) speed.

Car makers would rather not offer the option. Its cheaper for them to make you buy what you don't want. They know you are either gonna pony up and pay it or by a used car.

Didnt Ford try that with the Mustang Cobra R awhile back, stripped down no radio and just a heater?

I tried for 3 months to order a hard top, crank window, no A/C Camaro SS.
I gave up and just decided I wouldn't ever buy a new car......

Now I see this. I used to have a 'Cuda and I see a white with black interior (think Vanishing Point) base model look with top of the line motor in my future. I'll put up with the extra stuff (I'm also getting old and like A/C now) for that car.

lol, you saw that on Speed the other day didn't you?

I know I did, that kid they had in there doing the review looked a little constipated though.

Well, the E body mopars and first gen camaros always looked similar, so they're keeping up traditions at least.

The challenger is hot..I'll take one in sublime.. I'm reserving judgement on the camaro until they refine the design like they're planning ( think an even stronger resemblance to the 69), and as for the new musclecar actaully being made that I'd buy today, I'll take an SRT-8 charger.. I've ridden in one, and it's a rocket.. much more visceral than the vette.

i have come to really like the Charger, the front end just looks mean, i wish they'd have done something alittle different with the rear area though,,

been thinkin about tryin to get one someday:rolleyes: yeah right:p:

I'm a service tech at a Mitsu dealer :wink1:

I forgot to mention the Evo RS also doesn't have A/C.

I'd like to have power windows in a car... I've never owned a vehicle that had them.

I like it. My first car was a 70 Challenger R/T. I'd love to have another, but it doesn't look "family friendly."
