The definitive guide to a 14 bolt swap (14BFF)

Shaggy, I think you mean shock mounts and not perches being backwards.

If you turn only one wheel and the other stays sationary while you count the pinion revolutions, then you need to multiply the count by two. So, you probably have 4.10 gears if you count was JUST over two rev's. If it was more like two and a quarter rev's, then ya got 4.56. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Oh yeah, thanks Zakk /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Why can't things like this be made into articles for the web site? People could write up a batch of guides for popular Blazer mods that are always asked about here.

Going from 1/2 ton to 3/4 or 1 ton
doing a shackle flip, homemade or production
doublers
guide to lifts, body and suspension
guide to tires
building a rock rig
building a bogger
building a sand buggy
building a racer
interior mods
etc...

would be far easier to snag the relevant info from a well written guide like this one than to have to piece info together you get from the dozens of search posts found. Just a thought.

EDIT: incidentally the info in this post is good usable info but like every other post is going to get buried which is unfortunate. I am merely stating that if the wealth of knoweledge contained by the people here could be condensed into articles that do not move you would have far less repeat posts asking the same question every week.

Thank You Very Much!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

so which one will you do?

I know a bit about homemade shackle flip having done one. Obviously you can only write about what you know.

I could write a good article about running a backhoe. Proper way to square and size a hole depending on weather you have a #4 vault, liner, eagle, or sentinel. I can tell you how to settle and properly sod a grave. I can even tell you how to make a headstone...because that is what I do and know. But no one here is interested in that so a guide written by me would be pretty worthless here now wouldn't it?

Next smartass question please.

great. write it up and post it. IMHO a very simple title and common terms in the title is best for future searches.

next smartass retort, please

Unfortunatly you completly missed my point. Searches are a pain in the ass and often serve up topics that have nothing to do with the search parameters. I was merely stating that having someone write up an article and posting it on the site (as an actual web page, not a forum post) would make the info more accessable and the actual website more desirable to visit. But I guess maybe that is just me.
