My stepfather gently rolled a '88 K-5:doah:.

The body shops estimate about 8K in damages.Check my album. I can purchase a 87 or 88 solid body with some of its drivetrain for about $500-$700 dollars.

Just wondering if there was any major difference (body mount locations, etc..) between the bodies.
I don't know much about these years, I only deal with 1st gen Blazers:bow:
Thank you

There is no difference between the two other than the possibility of one having TBI instead of carb on the 86. Nothing that can't be ignored completely if you don't want to deal with it. The bodies themselves should be identical, and all mount locations should be the same. This is basically the same for all 81+ Blazers, the differences are in the 80 and older, with most differences occuring in the 70's.

Anyone know estimated hours it takes to remove the body, any shortcuts or any steps that may make this process less painful?

depends what interior u are keeping
if u are keeping the ""donor body"interior i guestimate a good week-end and a few freinds (not to much beer...slow the process down more talking then wrenching)will get this thing back together (maybe not fully running)

if u are keeping the ""rolled" interior , 2 weekends the time to gut both interior and put it back together

the more option it has ,the longer it will take

hope it helped a bit

Thats in the ball park of what I estimated (as long as I can keep the beers away)
Thanks!
