First off, stupid hurts, and I shouldn't trust a guy who can't pay for a $600 upfront.:rolleyes::doah:

So, long story short (I will not be answering questions) I sold my 81 Jimmy to a guy for $600, but he only had $400 at the time, and we signed a deal stating he would pay the balance in full by the end of the month. That was in June last year. I called him and called and he always promised "next week." Well, next week turned into the new year, and I find that the Jimmy was involved in illegal activity out at the sand dunes (title and therfore Jimmy is still mine)

I show up at his place and say "Hey, pay up or give it back." He says come back in a week. I show up the next day with a trailer and haul it off, much to his chagrin. He has no way of stopping me and I have no obligation to return idiots money. Now, I have a used to be good Jimmy sitting where it was for 5 years.:doah: Oh, and between said "illegal activity" and now, he tried to rebuild it.

Moral of the story is: Don't sell unless buyer can pay in full, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT accept payments.

On to pics:

A$$hole

So you sold him some heads, an intake and carb, hood and glass for $400? He got a good deal for all of the hassle he gave you.

So what illegal activity was your vehicle involved in? Can they pin it on you?

I also learned this lesson, and got off easy but it was a little different.

I sold a 1967 Mustang to some guy but did not report the sale to the DMV (which I should have). The car turned out to be stolen, so the cops showed up where I worked, surrounded the building and came in. I happened to be on THREE phone lines with the police as well who call called at once and I explained I sold the car. I told the cops as they came in to hold on because I was already talking to three of them on three phone calls. They left disappointed.

A month or two later the guy who bought it took it to the DMV to register it. The cops come at gunpoint and hauled him out in handcuffs (stupid if you ask me) and impounded the car. The buyer had restored it completely. New paint, interior, rebuilt the engine, etc. They returned it the original owner, so that must have been nice ... it was stolen something like 10 years earlier, and now it's returned in perfect condition.

Anyway, he was out several thousand dollars. Whoops. I was on the hook to him for the purchase price, so I paid him back when he showed up at 6am on a Sunday. I opened the door and was like "Yeah?" and he said "Remember me?" and I said "No, who are ... OH! Yes! Oh, hey, the car is stolen! I just found out!" and he replies "Yeah, I know, I want my money back." I felt really bad for the guy, he looked like he was had gotten no sleep. Anyway, I got my money back from the guy who sold it to me so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Moral of the story: Always sign a bill of sale for sales/purchases, get payment in full before releasing the vehicle, get the buyers name, address, phone number, get a copy of the buyers ID, and report the sale to the DMV along with all the buyers info and keep a copy for yourself.

I'm serious, more pics please
Sorry no can do, I'm living in Alaska now and it's back home in Washington waiting for something. Dad is not happy about the whole deal but is being patient. He wanted it gone, bad.

Blue: I snagged all but the hood, which was badly krinkled and had a hole in it.

And "illegal activity" is a bit of a stretch, he was wheeling with a friend of his in a closed area out at the Moses Lake sand dunes, they were in said friends ride and the Jimmy was parked at the parking lot with a blown head from pushing it too hard. Cops busted them and hauled them out. My brother works for the PD and gets all these police reports and handles evidence. He said, as an "of interest" thing for me, that an K5 GMC Jimmy was listed as abandoned at the dunes, but the idiot had got it back to his place. That's when I went out there and asked if all this was true, which he said it was, so I demanded "Money or I'm taking it" which led to what you see here.
