months of preparation and work in those pics but ill stop the rant before it begins... check my profile for specs.

feel free to vote for it for showoff of the week in the top right corner. I'll have more pics in a couple weeks, got too carried away with the swap and never took a pic of the blaze.

I had to pull the tank and fab my own inline pump setup, cut and fit my own exhuast, extended countless wires, had to put the tcase and tranny back in, etc etc the list goes on. It had A lot that needed to be done...missing parts etc. It wasn't a cut and dry deal, and I didn't have the money for the entire swap so yes months of preparation and work. I had to space it out because i was constantly waiting on money or parts... not bad for a 17 year old kid with no experience or help(I guess i'll praise myself).

Therse a better pic on the next page... i'll try to get some more but for some reason i can't log into cardomain.

I thought i'd post it up because a while ago i remember a few saying theyd like to see this ebay motor.

did you buy complete motor on ebay or build from parts? specs? pulling an engine in an hour is one thing, cleaning and putting it back in is another good job!

Being a little hard on the guy aint we, just calm down y'all, we have a nice little peace going on ck5, lets not screw it up.

I hear ya on the always waitin on money, it took me like 5 months to get my motor put together, in, and runnin right.

I'm on I don't even know how many months, 2 blocks, and lots of $$ in my TBI 383.

Don't listen to those jerk-offs, keep up the good work.

Also, if you want to show off your engine, clean up the wires and such.

Good luck.

hehe, you'll get bonus points from Bobby (RJF) for having AC....

electric fan?

Oh and keep up the good work bucko. I have plenty of knowledge and experience and age and what not but not the funds to fullfill the dreams we have for Wimpy. So you could say we've been building Wimpy for two years now.

i care not if an engine has chrome, a supercharger, mpfi or just a stock setup! if a person has the gumption to tear into it thats all i need to respect em! :thumb:

I really don't want to lock this thread or start editing posts wholesale, so how about a few of you go back and do the editing yourself...preferrably to stuff that is within the site guidelines.

At 17 I had never swapped an engine and they sure as hell didn't have computer junk on them back then either. Shane wants to share, so lets keep the comments positive, and the criticism constructive OK?

...good work! Trust me, I know allllll about the MONTHS AND MONTHS of work to do what some people can do in a day or a weekend... Sometimes it is all about time and money, and I never seem to have enough of either!

Great job bud. I (and several other self-respecting guys on here) know how that feeling is when we've done something "ourselves" and are proud of it. Keep up the good work and don't stop there!

just to give my opinion on "the time it takes" on my current 85 chevy project in 6 hours i pulled the front sheetmetal/ radiator/engine/tranny/t-case/exhaust/wiring/shocks/brakelines/ fueltanks. putting everything back takes longer! some projects are straight forward. some very different! the engine am working on will have no chrome. point is who cares? thats my point! :saweet:

looks like this thread flipped a 180....

Mods are steppin it up. Keep up the good work, *wipes brown off nose*. lol

I like a clean motor just as much as the next guy but i'm not going to even start the wipe down and pressure washes until i get everything road worthy... My moms moving in with some fool and I refuse to listen to his bs so basically im screwed if this thing has problems. Right now all i care about is the mechanical. I'm getting kicked out on my 18 th birthday.... Might have to be my rollin house for a while... sometimes you have to just sit back and laugh at the crap that life throws at you, cause if you don't you'll end up in a mental hospital.

I bought it as a remanufactured longblock off ebay and got lucky.

Motors are like women... they take a lot of work but its worth it.

I still need to cut and relocate exhaust away from tcase and fuel pump, get fan shroud, radiator mounts, change oil, secure pump wires and fuel lines, and the computer tuning.
