Well that sucked, the forums were down about 22 hours!!!

We had a corrupt table (one of the biggest ones of course), tried to repair with no luck and ended up having to go back 2 days to get a clean backup. There will be two days of posts etc. that will be lost I'm afraid. Sorry for the trouble guys, just one of those things, and when you have over 3 million posts those things take longer. :doah:

If you singed up in the last 48 hours you might have to register again sorry about that. If I missed anything let me know.

running a website ain't easy, especially one as popular as this. glad you were able to recover and only lose 2 days. it could have been much worse.

No problem here. I do all my singing in the shower.............:D

Funny you say that... I have 2 rooted phones and tried a couple different roms on each. When I got nowhere with that and threw a tantrum... my wife pulled out her little iPhone and showed me the forum down message. :doah: Spent hours accomplishing nothing, she called me a dumbass... I love that woman.
 
Where the heck was the forum down message? All I ever got was just a blank screen. I ran a traceroute, that found a bad node, but never saw a forum down message.

You would have to ask my wife, I'm to ashamed. I believe it may have been on the main page :dunno:

That was the problem then, I could never get to the main page. It would run and run, then time out with a blank screen.

I actually got to the forum page once, but could not go anywhere, and got dumped off right after.
My usual link goes straight to the forum page. But, I tried the main page a few times.

Glad its back.

I am still turning on ad blockers and other systems I turned off trying to get on.........

That's because the home page is static HTML and the forums are in a database - which was down.
 
I was able to get to the home page and then to the forum page but nothing after that. Being sick and awake at an early hour and NOT being able to get onto my favorite site sucked big time.
 
I thought I couldn't log on because of my membership expiring today,but I thought I'd still be able to post here in the garage..........................................................................................................................................................my computer has been a POS the past 3 days,couldn't get signed on to AOL,I think the modem is dying,ever since we got new fiber optic phone lines installed from the house to street,the dial up has sucked worse than ever,and now it takes a dozen or more attempts to sign on ,and if it does let me online,its slow as hell and it "dissconects" while I'm halfway thru a post or while veiwing....looks like you guys wont be seeing much of me here until I get a new modem,computer,and RID of "dial up".....................................................................................................If If I had any clue how to hook up a wireless connection,I bet I could get free access from one of the many new car dealerships a few hundred feet away that all have free internet access for customers in the waiting areas...

Looks like we went through another bad outage. Fortunately I don't see any missing posts / threads like last time.

I'm guess the ISP has got some explaining to do about their 99.99999% "uptime" claims! :thinking:

Sorry about that, the CK5 server was moved from LA to a new data center in Virginia. I was going to make a post about possible down time yesterday morning and forgot. :doah:
