This is a truck I put together just to go wheeling. It is a 1986 Chevy CUCV 1028. It already has the axles, a stout tranny and dependable 6.2L diesel. When I got it, it needed batteries and a gas tank. Once it was moving on its own it went into the garage for the lift. It sits on 4" TC springs, a 2.5" shackle flip w. 6" HD shackle, longer brake lines and 4 gas shocks.

Plans for the future are to short wheelbase it using some 64" springs (thanks MuddyBuddy) and relocating the spring hangers. I was going to build a flatbed but found a shortbox for $100 instead. It in pretty good shape for the price and it included a very retro looking rollbar.

Any ideas on where to go with it after that?

i like it the way it is. sweet :D

why'd you keep the swaybar?

Cause I'm being cheap. That and I had the swaybar discos lying around and wanted to see the difference w/ and w/o the swaybar hooked up.

Looks good!

Thanks.

Where you at with it?

Is it ready to wheel?

Yeah, how 'bout you?

Thanks x 2

Maybe some rock sliders or a winch, a solid roll cage is always a plus too.

Looks pretty sweet how it sits now

Good ideas. I had thought about doing some 3x3 square tubing for rock sliders in place of what's left of the rockers. Winch is in the garage awaiting it's fate. It's an M10000 I got used. I hope it's enough. This thing is heavy. Still debating where to mount it. A rollcage is something I need to start looking into. Part of me wants to narrow the front and toss the doors and bed altogether. Another part of me wants to keep it street legal.
Thanks x 3.

I can't wait to see how it goes in something other than snow.
