Here is how the first 4 hours of the trip was spent by Readymix and I:doah:

Didn't even make it 10 ft off of the paved road:mad: . We thought we broke the Tranny but as we took the Tcase apart we found that the Tcase selector "rooster comb" was no longer pressed onto the shaft and allowed the planetary to slip into Neutral. Thanks to K10abroinslo (David) and a weld bead later we got it back together and had no problems with it the rest of the day:D . I cant think of a better place to rebuild a Tcase than in the desert with the wind blowin about 20 mph:haha: . A big thanks to Brian and David for the help. Pics will be posted later of the wheelin action as I was driving and did not get any action photos:o . Oh ya there are 120 needle bearings (2 rows of 60) that go between the chain gear and the output shaft those are fun when the case is in the truck.:D

oh how i love my 205...:D hey man whatever it takes though, right?

Yeah it was a blast. Never thought I would have to rebuild a 208 in the sand.

I posted more pics in the SoCal thread

I am a mobile mechanic on the trails. You never know when you will need it.

More times than not I end up fixing someone elses truck. Cool with me though as I almost prefer to be wrenching over wheeling

Ya Brian has a pretty good selection of tools and what he did not have Don had at his camp:D . Kinda sucked wasting 4 hours of valuable wheelin time but all in all it was a fun time:D . We beat on it hard and no problems and it made the 100 mile trip home:eek1: .

Those needle bearings are fun as hell when you don't know they are there and aren't ready for them to fall all over. I learned the hard way that they are there. It was fun trying to find all those little bastards all over a dirty clutter garage floor. I guess in the desert would have been worse though.

Yeah. I remembered that they were there. Then I put all of then in Ira's nice, new, shiney hat....

At least we did not loose any of them
