Well i figured since i have'nt contributed much to the site yet i wanted to post a build thread of the truck i've been tinkering with for about five years, from roughly the start to the current state of the project. I already posted it over on GMfullsize so bear with me while i transfer stuff over.

Well th

is is the begining when i first bought the truck.
I then added a 6 inch lift and 3 inch body and some blinged out crap.

After a few years i switched over to some 37x14 iroks and killed most of the drivetrain.

So i started collecting and researching to do a solid axle and rear 1 ton conversion.
Axles are hp44 up front 14ff with disc convo out back.
shackle flip with 6 inch diy4x shackle add-a-leaf and 1" zero rate in rear
front is 48 inch bds springs with 4 inch lift, offroad direct bracket kit and zero rate moving axle an inch forward.
I have alot of pic's of the build to the current state i'm at.

I've still gotta paint the chrome stuff and fix the rear bumper along with finishing up the axle's, and other misc, thing's. Anyway's i really like the site and look forward to learning more as i go as this is my first build.

Right On!!

Nice truck, nice stance. There are several SAS rigs on the boards here too.
LOL, I like the MIA front yoke :) Gotta take care of those U-bolts too man, long suckers. Also, was this truck 2wd to start? I swear, I don't see any drive setup in that front crossmember. :dunno:

Sweet truck :waytogo:

It was 4 wheel drive at first. That is until 2 diff's and 7 cv's later i gave up. Reason the u bolt's are still long is because i just wanted make sure everything was all finished before trimming them down. I'll be installing the gear's and locker's along with new front and rear d-shafts soon enough.

:haha: I swear I looked at the front end for a few minutes before giving up on finding any guts :D I even did a double check when I saw some mud spray on the side of the truck.

I still mudded it with just 2wd lol. Going 40 thrue a pit with iroks throws mud either way.

I like it. Whats with the chrome circle tie down looking things on the bed?

The prevoius owner put them on, it was the only thing he did to the truck.

With all the older styles getting so old and rusty I think there will be more of these being built... good job I like it!:waytogo:

How does it drive with the SFA

I just had the exhaust done today doesn't

I need to get an alignment as it wanders a bit but is still better than before. Excited to how well it does with the steering dialed in.

Check your toe. Should be about 1/8-1/4 in. If that doesn't help, or you already got it set, then I'd say maybe your caster angle is too shallow. Pretty easy to check with an angle finder.
