I ordered one of JB Conversions LoMax 205s a couple of weeks ago and have finished putting it together.I have put together alot of 205 transfers and this one assembles just like any other 205 with the exception of 2 small mods which are easy to do.
JBC did an excellent job with this kit,the gears are hi quality and everything on the case lined up perfectly.

About a year ago when I was cruising around CK5 I saw the ad about the Lomax coming soon,I knew that was exactly what I needed.A low range better than any aluminum case with the strenght of all gear drive!

I took ALOT of pictures putting this together and completed as well as both style adapters installed on it.If your considering getting one of these and have any questions post up,I dont bite:D

Is it wrong to be aroused by looking at these pic's ??????

hmm i was thinking. is there anyway to use that case w/ a 32 spline input on a 465 using the figure 8 adapter?

edit: maybe have to make a spacer for the 465 or get a custom mainshaft made? either way the 465 would have to be converterd to 32 spline...

i really like that!! im lookin to do something with my t-case, either go 241 sye or maybe a lomax 205. how much did that set you back? if you dont mind me asking. im trying to figure which is more realistic for me. thanks!!

looks sweet!

Yes the kits are $1,400. + UPS shipping

The late model SM465s are 32spline but I dont know the shaft lenghts,ORD sells a shorter 32spline 465 output but again not sure on the lenght.Just throwing this out there!

Quality looks very nice in those pics. Both your work and theirs. How soon till you try 'er out?

MEK,

I have been collecting 205 tech info for quite a while now for my own personal use, and to pass on to fellow ck5'ers (see the 205 tech thread in the tech article section...). Would you mind sending me all the pics you took of the lomax assembly process so I can add that info to what I have gathered thus far? I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks,Gonna be alittle while.Dont want to disable the truck while I overhaul another TH400 with a 4 1/2" shaft stickout,current tranny has a 208 2 3/8 sso.

steve_kibbe:Thats a good question,I will weigh it and see.A complete 32spline 205 with yokes weighs 134lbs.

jekbrown:I took assembly photos but just some of the mods you need to do with the Lomax that you dont with a normal 205 rebuild because of the bigger idler gear/wider gears.

I have looked at the NWF billet and they look awesome but the transfer is going under the uglyist Blazer I have ever owned but I love her!:p:

I like those round headed fasteners you used, any chance you could post up the size / qty's required?
