Buddy bought this truck running and driving for under a grand, has some worn out tires that saw alot of gravel roads. Passengers side inner fender looked to have been ripped out at one time. Decent amount of rust. But he wanted a winter beater that he could make a toy come springtime and this truck perfectly fit the bill. Has a 350 with edelcrap carb, 4 speed granny low with a 205 fixed yoke. 4.10 gears in the axles, runs drives and stops just fine, took it downtown and he learned he didnt have door keys though! Luckily didnt lock it up before I asked him!
Plans for this truck include:swapping out the fender so we can mount an inner fender, eventually find a better clip and doors for it.
Get a radio working in it with basic speakers.
Tune the carb or swap a quadrajet on it.
Swap the rotting 238/85/r16s for some new 285/75/r16s.
Swap battery tray for one that isnt made of wood.
And just make sure it runs and drives good enough for winter dutys.
Today we went crazy and put a spare fender I had laying around the yard on. Not the best but it will work for what we need it to. Didnt have the inner fender clips or bolts so we robbed them out of the spare mid 80s fender I had at the house. Would have got it done in 3 hours but he got called to go do a tow and it started raining so had to stop. Need to bolt inner fender in, alight the fender, then throw the hood back on and install a better battery tray.
Oh ya, the windshild visors, glove box, and some other parts are all coming out of either junk trucks we have or spares I had stored out in the garage. This is a true "low buck build" haha.
