last 5-6 weeks solid I have been working on getting the shop cleaned / prepped / add in few items and get ready for major upgrade job .

did the wood stove mods / added the natural gas heater / added in a few extra goodys before the JOB . . .

then the 2 trucks and trailers showed up nov 9th 8am bright and early . I was up at 5am with a fire started for them to get the shop a little more warm .

the guys got right to it and had the whole place done by 4pm that day .

2" closed cell spray foam in attic to the drywall so the heat / cool stays in the shop now . also 1.5-1.75" on the 3 shop doors to make them do there job better .

last was a bunch of holes for wall fill try-pol foam in the walls .

the 1 shop door has the 4 holes in the lower panel for intake filters for the paint bay it is . I just framed them out with drip edge flashing and riveted to the door panel before foam so I have a nice box to set the filters in place .

foam on that door if I don't want to heat that bay when used for storage . or hold in heat for work .

next summer prob fix all the holes in the drywall from cavity fill . . . no biggy now tho . also trim down the high spots on the doors and cover with rolled aluminum flashing .

Sounds like a thorough job Brett!
I also dig the hood/awning idea!

so I found out why they tossed this unit . . . . .

some jack wagon stripped the threads clean out of the bushing the 3 handles go on .

the bearing was ready to drop out also .

and removing the bad bushing with threads all bound up on the shaft killed the shaft .

new shaft / bushing / bearing kit shipped 87 bucks .

I still did good I guess. . . :surepal:

I would say it's still a good deal. New is what 700 to 800 dollar range, + shipping?

The Surplus Center sells acme threaded shafting, but I dont see a listing for acme thread nuts to go with them..(weird!)..W.W. Grainger might sell them though...
I know you already ordered the parts, but if you need acme thread shafts for another project like a vise, etc, this is a good source to find some reasonably..Surplus Center

bolt in acme thread shaft 34 bucks.

and yes I know a new 7600 unit is big money as the 7400 model no longer for sale since updated .

I wont use it much but when I need it I will have it .

McMaster-Carr.....They might not be cheap, but they have a lot of different things......Plus they have one of the best sites out there.

Last month has been crazy around my place . Pulled old siding and fixed a few little problems . Put in 4 new windows that are more efficient and open . 2 new entry doors . Then we wrapped it and put left over new siding from house on the front and metal on the sides and back .

Upgraded security lighting on all 4 corners and full side yard now . Also a little extra BLUE for little something extra . Sure was a project as i had to move EVERYTHING away from shop i had collected from when we moved in in 11/2014 . But well worth it in the end .

Built a fence between shop and corner of property line point and matched it to there fence . But so we could still use it its mounted on a farm gate and a wheel on the end for support .

Next was my parking area behind the shop . It got a massive update with fabric and 50ton of crushed #2 stone and plate tampered in place . No more mowi g and sinking in to lawn .

Hauled it my self and empty i was 10,400 and was averaging this on the scale out of the local pit . The 3500-HD and 8.1/nv4500 combo didn't even complain with the weight . Just wish i had taller sides on the truck was all .

Averaged 2.5-3" of gravel on the pad . Plan is boarder it with railroad ties pinned in to the ground with rebar and wood chips to the woods from there for a clean look and less maintenance.
