Yeah the sprinkler thing works. Get thew kind that is long and goes back and forth. Set it under the truck and move it evry 10 min for a hour or so. Gets it clean and all you have to do is sit on your arse.

yep set on my a$$ love it :D

Is this the Elko right outside of Tifton? I used to go to the races there with a couple of friends that were big into it. That was a couple of years ago when I went to ABAC.

I'm not very sure how close it is to Tifton, I guess I need to look on the map.. Its Elko Georgia, I drive 70 miles to get there. Its very close to Montezuma (where Yoder's Minonite resurant is.. everyone is always talking about it...lol)...
thanks,
James

Looks like you had a lot of fun.

On the down side, that's one heck of a mess you've got to clean up. Reminds me of why I don't really like mud anymore.

Be sure to hose straight up behind the rear wheels into that cavity between the inner and outer sheetmetal, otherwise your 4 foot window will eventually fall out from rust. The mud gets up there and has no way to dry.

Good point. Thanks, I never would have even thought of that. This is why I LOVE ck5, because there is so much good insight

Looks like someone has the same problem I used to have. "is that a motor or just one solid chunk of mud" now I build skidplates, wheel-wells and try to seal the motor off pretty good, the only time my motor gets muddy is when I presure wash my radiator.

another tip on cleaning the morning after is to hose everything down then use a presure washer, takes about an hour to clean a whole truck. so it makes sense to not use a car wash and invest in your own washer!

I do have inner fenders, but as you can see, it didn't do much good. I would absolutely LOVE to see your skid plates that you made to surround the motor/ inner fender gap. Does it give you any cooling problems? I would really really really like to rig up something to minimize all that mud splashing up.
thanks,
James

I know the perfect way to minimize all that mud splashing up....

Now whats the fun in that  .......LOL.. I'm sure I'm gonna do alot of trail riding, and I might just get into rocks too, but I will always have my first love MUD :wink1:
thanks,
James

It cleans up well

There is no reason to be so scared of mud. It cleans up well. This took about 20 or 30 minutes with a water hose... haven't even broken out the pressure washer yet.

This picture right here is the reason I won't touch anything bigger than a mud puddle anymore-

Same here :doah:

It's all about snow now - just as much fun as mud and you're truck's cleaner when you're done.

In the wise words of my father - Mud should be part of the trip, not the destination.

At any rate it looks like you had fun, James! :)

How close to Atlanta is this place? I have an Uncle in Atlanta and was just curious.

Man I love gassing it through mud! I go to the powerlines down the street from me so I don't have to go far. I love it because it has a little of everything. It has rocks, mud, trails, one huge water hole, and sand dunes. Throw 15 inches of snow on top of that and you have got yourself a party! The rocks are very mild, and the mud isn't too deep, but you hit it after a rain storm and well lets just say I have covered the windshield in mud and ran out of washer fluid.

The problem I have is I have an open air filter so water can soak right through and get into the carb. This happened to me a few weeks ago. But here its looks all shiny

Man, sell that air filter and get ahold of a stock unit and and a paper element. Its way south of ATL, I'm wanting to say 150 or 200 miles.
thanks,
James
