So I'm bsing with a new customer the other day, we're getting to know another, so we're covering lots of random ground. At one point he mentions that he likes to weld......I tell him how I'm an 'Aspiring Welder' and would not insult welders by calling myself one. He asks what I weld and that leads to a discussion about my shop, which leads to how I have a few Blazers.........

He says, "Yeah, I'm sure you know about that place in Arizona, the 'Blazer Graveyard.'" Long story short, he claimed that one of his best friends is into Blazers and that his friend had recently made a trip out there to pick up some parts for his Blazer.

I'm skeptical of.......well, these days, anything anyone says, but I was wondering if any of you heard of such a place (and would be willing to share such knowledge if you did).....

If I knew of a place with unrusted Blazers I'd rally every friend I have with a trailer and roll - stat! I'd buy two of every year!

One of my good buddies just transferred to Phoenix (Federal Law Enforcement). I called him when I left the customer - "Troy, I need you to start asking around about this place......"

I was just in freaking Arizona, with a car trailer behind my truck, bringing back my WWII vet buddy's 1966 MG......'there and back in one day' trip for me.

Anyone heard of it?

I know for sure it's not on the East coast.:D

I would ask your customer for the guy he's talking about phone number. I hear you about the skeptical part.....But you never know where leads like this might take you.

Never know. I've been in a "Dodge Graveyard" of sorts. In Michigan even. Former dairy farm with both huge barns FULL of good shape parts. Guy loved old Dodge trucks (pre-94) so he would hook up his 25' trailer to his Cummins dually and head south or west. Come back at the end of the winter with piles of parts and vehicles (he dabbled in other makes/models) and store them in the barns.

I'm not even into Dodges and I was amazed at what he had.

I've seen footage of "The Packard Farm" in Indiana, where a guy had tons of NOS parts and cars stashed in huge barns--I think he either died or sold the place though, not that long ago..

I wouldn't doubt there is a stash of old GM trucks in AZ--a place in a nearby town goes out west at least once or twice a month to haul back complete vehicles and parts from AZ,NM,NV,and CA,the strange thing is he will not sell a complete vehicle, just a cab, nose, individual paarts--you just about cry walking through his yard, seeing minty rust free old El-Caminos and pickups,K5's and hundreds of GM cars from the 40's to 70's , being cut up for patch panels, frames, and drive train parts...I guess he figures the hassles of dealing with titles isn't worth it ?...

He must know of at least a few large hoards out west,he always hauls back quite a few on every trip he makes..

I was at the customer's site yesterday and asked him to get info for me. I did not want to ask for his buddies number, I felt that was a bit too forward. We'll see.

There is a Bronco graveyard here, no Blazer though

I'd bet money that's what this guy was talking about. Still happens to me all the time when I drive my '88 to work and am running around to customer sites, "Nice Bronco." I just say thanks and carry on........

That's what I was going to say as well. Probably a bronco yard. I'm going to stop correcting people when they mention my bronco.

Thre is no Blazer graveyard because unlike Fords old Chevy's just keep running until there is nothing but a pile of rust and dust!!!!

Sure there are every road in the U.S.A is a Blazer Graveyard, they just keep going.
