It arrived a few days ago and here are pics as requested:

I love sellers. They always say everything works, but there are always a few things that don't.

The first major issue was that the rear glass would not roll down. That's no better than my truck!!! :doah: An hour later I fixed that. The cable from the motor to the gear was rusted solid, so I swapped that out. Then it would not roll up, not down, as the safety switch was dead. So I stuck a wire tap on the two wires and it rolls up. Of course, the grease was 20 years old and like gum, so I cleaned it off and put on a new layer. Now the glass goes up and down right quick.

Next was the HVAC controls. No heat in the cab. It appears there is no thermostat or maybe a 160 degree. I have yet to tear into that, but the air was coming out everywhere. So I followed the vacuum lines and found a 4" piece which was completely dead. Put a nice new piece in and now all my controls work, plus a minor idle issue is gone.

There are a few small issues, but I have parts galore from my old Blazer so I am using those. A few screws mostly, and the fan switch knob are all I've needed. The drivers door lever doesn't retract all the way back.

It won't pass smog because there is no preheater duct attach point on the headers, but I have to parts to fab that. I am not sure if there is an O2 sensor in the headers, and if not that is going to be a pain.

I also found two wires coming off the control module for the brakes which are straight out broken! I will have to find and repair those.

Other things I did - new dome light lens from LMC. MUCH better than stock. New air filter. Then I have bags of new things to do, such as:

Oil change / filter
Flush radiator
Fuel injector cleaner / fuel filter
Marvel Mystery Oil for the engine
New washer fluid and wiper blades
New rear taillight assemblies (existing were leaking) and bulbs
Various burned out side marker bulbs replaced
50 watt reverse tail lights
H7 headlights from EuroLights.com
Heavy duty headlight harness
Interior light fader
New ignition key assembly (currently has a 1974 Toyota key which is nearly impossible to cut onto a new blank ... 4 dead keys later)
Battery mat
New rear view mirror (new windshield but no mirror!)

It still needs rear window latches, but I want to turn those into power windows. :)

Next summer I will be replacing the carpet - all of it - and getting a soft top.
Selling the tires on there now, and will be replacing with some 33" that are more street friendly.

Enough blabbing, here are the pics!

The underneath amazes me. I could swear it's been restored, but I think it's just never really been driven in the rain.

I paid $5k and it has 227k miles on it. Runs strong, no smoke, and I don't know if it burns any yet ... I'll let you know in 5000 miles! :D

I hope I can find something that clean one of these days.

what kind of dog is that? looks like he likes the back seat too.

It took me a lot of searching to find that. Crazedlist.com helped tremendously, as did some of the CK5 brothers who checked it out for me (I'm in VA, it was in CA!) All said, I looked for about 2-3 months. This one was a great price too, seeing as how many go for a lot more in this condition.

That's my Great Dane. I'll be removing that seat soon enough so he and his Akita brother can have the whole back to themselves/ They LOVE the truck, especially when the top is off. :D

Hes a good looking dog, My dog likes the open windows in the car too, as I dont have anything where to top comes off.

Nice man.

I will warn you the LMC HD light harness I bought didn't mate up with my Eurolights headlights. Also not terribly impressed with the Eurolights setup or the selection of H7 bulbs. Kinda wish I had gone with the LMC lights so they at least plugged into the harness.

Thanks, I am excited to finally have a good truck I can drive and not worry about falling through the floor. :haha:

The lights though ... Oh man, that's no good. I don't really care about the H7's, as I will probably replace them with something brighter - especially the high beams. I'll guess just get some new plugs and whip something together. That's something I can handle. Or return it and make my own! :)

Yeah, like you I got mine from the West Coast through a member (kennyw) and man, I'm so glad I don't have to deal with the typical rust belt destruction.

I don't know which bulbs the LMC headlights use but they have to be more impressive than the H7's Eurolights use. I think next I'm going to try some of the super dooper Sylvania Silver Star's. The 70w lights that came from Eurolights are brighter than parts store 55w but I dunno if much brighter.

That's my biggest gripe with the LMC lights ... they don't even know what bulbs they use! Maybe I'll order a set and see which ones perform better and return the others.

It is nice and clean, and solid, it looks like someone give it the rattlecan restoration underneath.

Never would you find that in MI.

I hope that's not the case, but I'm looking at having it professionally undercoated ASAP. :)

That thing is CLEAN! Keep it that way...
Thanks! That's the plan. I like to keep things as near to stock as possible. Except for the stereo and maybe some driving/fog lights that I have, a rear facing red fog light, and a few other small things.

Several of the folks run them on here. Might ask. I had a thread about it a good year or so about it.

I did an h4/h1 conversion on mine using the Hella E-code headlights. The difference was substantial. Also running the LMC relay harness, had to switch a few wires around IIRC, http://www.rallylights.com/hella/HeadlampsMain.aspx thats where I got mine at.

EDIT: Just realized you have the side by side headlights and they dont list the 150mm lights on their site anymore. May be worth calling em, maybe just not on their site.

I think we have a winner here.

I looked a little more closely and noticed that the shocks were black ... except at the top and a few spots. So someone sprayed something underneath. But it's a good job, the body isn't painted, just the frame and underneath parts. All in all it looks okay, There are a few spots near the engine where it's peeled off and there is a little surface rust, but nothing major.

Nice truck! Do you know how your rims were refinished? Looks like they were polished. I have the same rims and need to do something with them cause they are faded bad and do not have the cash for new ones right now.
