The new CK5

I noticed my avatar is no longer head banging. I guess it is time to finally change it.

At least they will have accurate tech for once..... LOL

For sure! I sent an email to two contacts I have at the TEN Automotive Network, albeit on the 4x4 side, as I feel they should give credit to CK5 for the info. I’ve seen several occasions where the 4x4 mag guys like Fred Williams, Harry Wagner and others have taken quotes and information from here and other popular forums but they gave credit to the respective website where they gained their intel. Apparently, this Brandan Gillogly at Hot Rod doesn’t believe in showing that respect. When I first read their article I was flattered….now I am getting pissed. It is blatantly obvious he spent a lot of time reading my thread to write his article because that information doesn’t exist ANYWHERE even if you read every GM manual or worked at dealer. What I have written is years of tribal knowledge through work and personal research. Pissed me off someone takes it and runs with a sinicated publication with zero credit given.

Am I wrong to think written information on CK5 is like Facebook where anything you write is copyrighted by the host ( in this case CK5)??? If that is the case, the owner of CK5 should be pissed too

Anxious for the rest of the CK5 threads to cycle through their migration to the new platform as I sent a link to my thread to them but at the moment the 8.1L Swap Resource Thread it is still in pretty crude shape given the migration to the new dealeo.

According to the Terms and Rules for CK5, you are f****d. The link is down at the bottom of every page.

I feel the pain though. Since releasing true power numbers I now catch others using my numbers with their tunes and cams. Its funny actually, I guess if a dummy like me can make real power anyone can. LOL. In the end it washes out though. I hear, according to a competitor, my parts list is incompatible and un-tuneable. o_O

From the rules:

You are granting us with a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your Content in connection with the Service. You retain copyright over the Content.

So, aside from CK5 (itself) publishing something, you should have the ability to say yay or nay to folks using stuff from your article.

I don't think I'm able to change thread titles anymore. It would be a pity if my Suburban build was forever more known as "700R4 SHIFTING ISSUE." :dunno:
I found where to change the title. Instead of editing the first post, just go to the top of the first page on the right. There is a menu called "thread tools" where you can edit the title of the thread. I "think" that it won't break links.

I don't have a avatar anymore. How do I add one? Thanks.

Go up to your username and click on it, open up the "personal details" and click on your current avatar... It will open up a window that allows you to upload a new one

Thanks Greg tried that. Don't have permission. Maybe still not updated yet or since you are a super mod you can help Me.
